Volunteer Opportunities
Ideally every team family volunteers with the team. There are plenty of opportunities, and in the author's opinion, volunteering is where the fun is at. With the exception of the coaches, swim meets are run entirely by unpaid volunteers. Even the officials are volunteers! It takes an average of 70 volunteers to run a meet depending on if the team is hosting or being hosted, as well as, the number of events and swimmers at the meet.
Swim Meet Volunteer Jobs - Swimmers are in the pool usually less than five minutes a meet so it's great having something to occupy your downtime while hanging with other team families.
Non-Meet Volunteer Jobs - For a variety of reasons, volunteering at a meet may not be for your family. There are still plenty of ways you can help.
