NVSL Season - Division 11
NVSL (Northern Virginia Swim League) meets are frequently referred to as "A" meets. "A" meets are held on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. The meet consists of 40 individual events and 12 relay events with swimmers selected by the Head Coach based upon times defined by age group, gender, and stroke.
If you'd like your swimmer to be considered you must declare availability by the Monday prior to a meet. Details, including whether your swimmer has been selected for the meet, are communicated mid-week. If your swimmer is selected, you are expected to volunteer at the meet.
NVSL also holds Divisional events - Relay Carnival and Divisional Championships - which then feed into All Star Relays and All Star Individuals. NVSL meets are competitive and team scores are tallied.
WFDL Season
WFDL (Western Fairfax Developmental League) meets are frequently referred to as "B" meets. "B" meets occur on Monday evenings with the goal of fun while providing meet and swimming competition experience. All swimmers are eligible to participate and earned times, along with swimmer availability, are used in selecting swimmers for NVSL meets (aka "A" meets).
If you'd like your swimmer to participate in a "B" meet you must declare availability and select strokes by the Satruday prior to a meet. If your swimmer signs up for a "B" meet, you are expected to be available to volunteer at the meet.
WFDL does not hold events in addition to the "B" meets and team scores are not tallied.
