Greenbriar Wins D11 Relay Carnival

At Mosby Woods last night the Greenbriar Dolphins claimed victory over the other Division 11 teams, winning the 2024 Division 11 Relay Carnival. Final Team Scores:

Greenbriar 182
Kings Ridge 174
Daventry 164
Mosby Woods 158
Truro 152
Brookfield 118

1st - 6th place finishers score points in the following order: {14 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2}

This is the first Greenbriar Relay Carnival championship since 2016. The trophy will be at practices today before it’s placed permanently in the trophy case across from the pool check-in desk.

Congratulations to Coach Pat for his first Relay Carnival championship as a coach, and to the rest of the coaching staff for contributing so much to our swimmers’ readiness for relays to bring home the trophy. Congratulations to our swimmers for performing so well. We had nice blend of 1st through 5th place finishes with no 6th place finishes and not a single DQ. If your team can’t be first in every relay, picking up points across all the finishers is the way you win!

On the topic of first place finishers, we had two Team Records broken last night:

Girls 8&Under 100M Medley Relay
Evelina Cheng, Felicity Hessel, Stella Cheng, and Brigid Cooley
Old Greenbriar Record: 1:38.07 (2013)
New Greenbriar Record: 1:35.48

Boys 15-18 200M Freestyle Relay
Ted Kim, Nate Murphy, Sky Lan, Ben Clabeaux
Old Greenbriar Record: 1:40.77 (2023)
New Greenbriar: 1:40.25

Along with the other 102 teams across the NVSL we will learn later today which, if any of our Dolphin Relays will be competing at the NVSL All Star Relay Carnival on Wednesday, July 10th.

Thank you as well to our volunteer parents last night. We couldn’t run these meets without you.

Congratulations Dolphins!
