Recap - 6/22 Greenbriar vs Daventry

On Saturday it was one pod of Dolphins vs. another as we faced the Daventry Dolphins at their pool in West Springfield. The final score was 242 Greenbriar to 177 Daventry. We are currently 2 wins and 0 losses heading into week 3 when we will face the Truro Swordfish who earned their first win of the season on Saturday.  For full meet results, visit here. Swimmers Placing at Saturday Meets: If your swimmer placed second or third in any individual event in a Saturday Meet, if they choose to swim that event in a Monday Meet it will be unofficial (aka Exhibition) for the rest of the season. If your swimmer placed first in any individual event in a Saturday Meet, all events (excluding IM) will be unofficial (aka Exhibition) in a Monday Meet for the rest of the season. When a swimmer is swimming in an Exhibition event, their times count but they do not place.

Greenbriar Being Hosted Little Rocky Run Tonight! Check your earlier messages or the Signup Calendar for all the details. Arrive early enough for your swimmer to be in the team area, ready in their team suit and team cap by 5:10 so they can begin their warmups promptly at 5:25PM.

6/26 Divisional Relay Carnival: The division relay carnival happens once a season where all six teams in each division converge on one pool for an evening of relay races. These include freestyle relays (each swimmer swims freestyle) and medley relays (each swimmer swims a different stroke). You should have already told us whether your swimmer is available, but there are still a couple of hours if you haven’t let us know your swimmer is available.Swimmer selection for the meet will be emailed out on Tuesday. The host pool has an e-store up for the Relay Carnival T-Shirt which you can pre-order until tomorrow. T-Shirt Pre-Orders and pick up at the meet.

6/28 Pep Rally Friday - Olympic Red, White & Blue

Let’s celebrate Team USA and the 4th of July a little early with an all American potluck. Join us at the tables under the umbrellas near the sandpit for food and fun. Bring your folding chairs, picnic blankets and BUG SPRAY! These events are a great time for families to meet at the pool, socialize and build team spirit. All team members are welcome to come even if you are not swimming in the A meet! Please let us know if you’re attending here and signup to help and what to bring here. 6/29 Greenbriar vs Truro: Please declare swimmer availability for the team’s Saturday meet against Truro (Annandale). The declaration deadline is 6PM Tonight. Final swimmer selection for the meet will be emailed on Thursday. As per our usual tradition, we plan to caravan to Truro from the pool parking lot.

6/29 Swim and Dive Late Night: Maybe you started your day early at the pool in the caravan to Truro. Why not finish it off with the Swim and Dive teams at Swim and Dive Late Night at the pool starting at 9PM. Please RSVP and Signup to help make the late night event a memorable one.

7/1 Home B Meet with Oakton: Just looking ahead to the week of July 4th, we are hosting the Oakton Otters on Monday, July 1st. Our Monday evening home meets always require full participation from parents of entered swimmers, and we’re anticipating a few of our regular volunteers being out for the holiday. If you’re planning for your swimmer to enter this meet, please consider entering them as early as possible and signing up for a job so we have plenty of time to cover any of our gaps. Even if you enter your swimmer in the meet today, you have until Saturday night to change their strokes or alter your volunteer role until the day of the meet. Thanks for helping us plan ahead!
