Saturday Meet Recap: Our meet yesterday at Sideburn Run was another very close meet heading into the relays, but this week our Greenbriar Dolphins were victorious with the final score of the meet being Greenbriar: 222 vs. Sideburn Run: 196. With one meet left in the regular season, Greenbriar is tied for second place in Division 11 with 3 wins and 1 loss. The Meet Results have been uploaded to the Meet Results page.

Monday Evening Meet - 5:45 Meet Start Time: Tomorrow evening we will host the Virginia Run Riptide. Greenbriar warm-ups will begin promptly at 4:45pm so ensure your swimmer is at the pool in their Greenbriar Team Suit and Team cap ready to swim at that time. This meet will start 15 minutes early to accommodate some special events, and a meet that we expect will include a larger number of swimmers than usual. Also as a reminder, the Individual Medley (IM) events will be swum first as this is the 4th Monday meet of the season. The rest of the events will follow in order (free, back, breast, fly). The meet sheet will be posted, but will still show the normal meet order. We do still have some volunteer positions we need to fill to get this meet started and finished so sign up for a job your family can complete for the team on the job sign up page here. This meet is also serving as a fundraiser for the John W. Thomasson Memorial foundation.

Team Pictures on Tuesday: On Tuesday morning, Olson Photography will be at the pool ready to begin shooting individual photos of our 13-18s and Early Bird swimmers at 8AM, followed by the team photo and then individual photos for our remaining swimmers. All younger swimmers should arrive by 8:25AM to be lined up for the team photo. We encourage all swimmers to attend so that our team photo is representative of our team. Olson has implemented a digital order form in addition to having their traditional envelopes for cash/check payment (available on Tuesday). Digital ordering instructions can be found here. After you create your account you will login to place an order. To complete the order, our Head Coach’s last name is McAndrews and you will find “Greenbriar Swim” in the league dropdown.

King’s Domion (also Tuesday): You should have already been notified that Tuesday is the date selected for our day at King’s Dominion. You can read everything there is to know on the team website here.

Final Team Pep Rally (Friday): It’s hard to believe that we are already hosting our final Team Pep Rally of the season, and does it ever look like fun. Whoever said you can’t have a Halloween Celebration with a Trunk or Treat celebration in July? You can read all the details, scary and otherwise, here.

Saturday Meet Highland Park @ Greenbriar: Next Saturday morning is our final NVSL dual meet of the season. As it’s also our final home meet of the season we will celebrate our graduating seniors (Allison Baxter, Coach Megan, Coach Lilly, and Connor Thomasson. The deadline to indicate whether your swimmer is available for consideration or not is tomorrow night. You may do so in the Swimtopia Mobile app or click here.

13&Over Progressive Dinner (Saturday): One of our long-standing traditions is on the evening of our final Saturday meet is a Progressive Dinner for our swimmers aged 13 & Over. We need to know whether your 13&over swimmer will be in attendance so that hosts can plan accordingly by indicating as such here. We also have signups available for 13&over parents to assist our hosts in making this a fun evening for our 13&over swimmers. The Progressive Dinner will finish up this year at the pool for Swim and Dive Late Night.

Swim and Dive Late Night (Saturday): The pool will be open to the swim and dive teams exclusively next Saturday evening beginning at 9PM. Please let the team know if your swimmer will be in attendance and how you can help us pull this fun event off.

And just as a preview for the final week of the season (beginning Monday, July 17th):

  • Next Monday we will be hosting Pleasant Valley for our final Monday Meet of the season.
  • The Division 11 Individual Championship Meet (Divisionals) will be held at Highland Park on Saturday, July 22nd starting at 8:30AM.  The meet starts with Butterfly this year.
  • Our End of Season Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of Saturday, July 22nd.  Keep your eyes open for more info to come.

See you at the pool!
