Good evening Dolphin Families!

Saturday morning is our third dual meet of season against the other undefeated Division 11 team, the Hollin Meadows Barracudas of Alexandria. They will be hosting us for our first Saturday away meet of the season. (2500 Woodlawn Trail Alexandria, VA 22306 | https://goo.gl/maps/qzyMjZLi2e989TaEA). Attached please find the swimmer list sorted by name and event.

If your swimmer appears on this list, but is actually unavailable to attend please reply ASAP.

Swimmer families (or spectators if you want to join us) should arrive at our pool by 7:20am on Saturday morning to caravan. Our caravan departs promptly at 7:25am. We’ll make a decision Saturday morning whether to take the Beltway or Fairfax County Parkway depending on traffic conditions. Our warmup begins at 8:25am and ends at 8:45 with the first event starting at 9:00 AM. Please ensure your swimmers come prepared to swim in their Greenbriar Team Suit and Greenbriar Team Cap. If you arrive at the Hollin Meadows pool before the rest of the caravan, please have your swimmers wait outside for the team so the team can enter the pool deck as one. The meet sheet will be uploaded to Swimtopia once it’s finalized.

We still need a couple more volunteers to fulfill our obligation at an away meet. Please go to the Job Signup page for the event to volunteer. With the exception of being a certified official, rest assured there is not a job on this list that you are incapable of doing. Remember that having a full roster of volunteers allows us to run a more efficient meet. If you have a swimmer in the meet we need your help.

Below is valuable information about our host pool:

PARKING: They are asking their swimmers to walk so there is more room in the parking lot. There is also parking in the neighborhood – just be aware of driveways and respect the 10ft rule.

TEAM AREA: Our team area is near the deep end by the pump house. We will be bringing our pop-up tents to provide shade for the swimmers. Thank you parent volunteers for bringing them to and from Hollin Meadows. Swimmers will want to bring their own camp chair as our team area will not have enough furniture for the entire team.As a reminder, the team area is for the swimmers and coaches. Parents, please find a comfortable place amongst the spectators to enjoy the meet.

SNACK BAR: The host team will have Anita’s Burritos, donuts, bagels and other various breakfast items. They will also have hot and cold brew coffee as well as plenty of other cold beverages. Their concessions takes cash or Venmo.

Pep Rally: Don’t forget to come out to the Pep Rally tomorrow night at 6PM at the pool. The signup calendar has everything you need to know. We still need some help getting set up and cleaning up so select a job or an item your family can complete or bring for this event. In honor of Independence Day , the theme is Red, White, & Blue, and swimmers are encouraged to dress up accordingly.. In the side lot we will park our vehicles and let our swimmers decorate the windows in honor of our first away Saturday meet.

Monday Meet: For our upcoming Monday meet we will be hosted by our neighbors, the Poplar Tree pirates. The deadline to declare your swimmer and select their strokes is Saturday at 6PM. Do so here! We need everyone to declare their intentions for their swimmer(s) even if they will not be competing. Once you’ve signed your swimmer up for the meet, head on over to the Job Signup and select a job you can help the team with.
