On to week two of summer swim.
Afternoon Practices Continue: We continue with our afternoon practice schedule this week. Please continue to have your swimmer(s) attend their assigned practice slot unless Coach Pat has given instructions to the contrary.
Meet Practice - Wednesday or Thursday at Afternoon Practice:
In preparation for Time Trials on Saturday, either Wednesday or Thursday during afternoon practice the Coaches will walk swimmers through what to expect. We want to make sure that swimmers, especially the newer swimmers, have had a chance to hear and see what a start at a meet looks like.
Time Trials: Saturday morning is our Time Trials meet where swimmers are afforded the opportunity to swim all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) for a time.
- Swimmer Declaration: ALL SWIMMERS need to declare if they ARE OR ARE NOT planning to attend along with the strokes they are planning to swim at this link before Monday 6/5 at 9pm.
- Volunteer Sign-up: If you declare your swimmer for the event please sign up for a job your family can complete during the meet here. We will need a lot of volunteers for this event, including 18 people to time (3 timers per lane).
Warm-up times for Time Trials:
Afternoon Practice Group A | 7:35am - 7:50am |
Afternoon Practice Group B | 7:35am - 7:50am |
Afternoon Practice Group C | 7:35am - 7:50am |
Afternoon Practice Group D | 7:15am - 7:30am |
Afternoon Practice Group E | 7:15am - 7:30am |
The meet itself will start promptly at 8:00am. Our Coaches will make sure your swimmers are getting to the right place before their events.
Plan accordingly for a chilly morning at the pool. You will probably want to bring your swimmer with a chair and some clothes to put on over their suits when they aren’t swimming. Extra towels won’t be a bad idea. Nobody will make fun of you for bringing a blanket.
At Time Trials, you will have an opportunity to pick up your name tag for the season. We will have a notepad on which you can identify corrections to your name tags that need to be made.
Lastly a meet sheet will be available here prior to Saturday that you may download and print or view on your mobile device. This document will allow you to know when your swimmer is swimming so you can watch.
